UpGrade RC Tires are the perfect choice for your bashing needs. These Saw Blade 2.8″ tires come pre-mounted to 5-Star wheels and feature a molded 17mm hex. Using the included hex adapters, this tire combination can also be mounted to RC vehicles with 12mm and 14mm hexes. Made with UpGrade RC’s soft compound, these tires are ready to grip into action and keep bashing.
About the Saw Blade 2.8″
Tread Design
The Saw Blade 2.8″ tires are designed to be an all out brutal terrain crushing tire. Made with a reverse-chevron tread, these tires are great in soft dirt and other loose terrain. These off-road tires have a lug pattern wrapping onto the sidewall to give added grip when cornering. The tires feature an open cell tread design to promote tire cooling while also ensuring rocks, mud, and other debris can be evacuated quickly. UpGrade RC tires are designed to elevate your RC off-road adventure.
Compound
Made from a durable compound, these tires are extremely soft and allow for good traction through rough terrain. While soft, and unbelted, these tires balloon very little on 2S and 3S. This ensures the tires stay flatter to keep the traction high at speeds. Upgrade RC tire compounds to ensure the tires will give you a true bashing experience!
5-Star Wheels
Upgrade RC designed a tire to elevate RC bashing, but they didn’t stop there. The 5-Star Wheels are made from a firm composite that allows for just the right amount of wheel flex for stability and traction. The hex of these wheels is quite special. Out of the package, the wheel will have a 17mm hex and 3 different adapters. These adapters include a 14mm, 12mm wide, and 12mm narrow hex. This ensures that these wheels will fit a wide range of vehicles giving you a wheel and tire combination ready to get out and play!

I was disappointed that they would not clear the steering arm or the upper control arm. The tire was tight enough that it was difficult to turn the wheel by hand. Ok, took these for a spin today. If you’re on the fence about these tires, go ahead and order them. You’ll thank me later. These tires have grip for days. Sidebite is excellent, and I tried them on several surfaces, from mud, blacktop, small gravel, crush and run, and grass. They gripped exceptionally well across all surfaces.
It reached a point where I was trying to make them fail. I was running 3s, running a Hobbywing Max10 3300kv setup, and even diffed out on purpose to see if one would pop. Nothing. Literally took it like it was nothing.
Air control was insane. I was able to backflip off of jumps that I never could get enough rotation before.
Now I want 1/8 and 1/5 sizes of these. 4 customers found this review helpful. Truck has a slightly larger motor and a 130A ESC installed Lots of other upgrades to steering and suspension as well. Only reason I mention that is because I don’t want the review to imply it was based with everything else on the truck being stock. That said, they are a blast on this truck. Loads of grip, they eat up off road terrain. Also am getting more height when jumping from the ground off of smaller obstacles (rocks, stumps, etc). Tons of air control. Definitely not a road wheel. Will pull wheelies all day but all the side grip can sometimes make turns on pavement flip the car if angle is too sharp or speed is high. That said, it’s pretty obvious these are not designed as on-road tires, so that was expected. Very happy with the purchase, especially at a price point that is lower than its competitors. My gripe is mainly for the wheels. I have a big rock 3S vehicle that I have converted to 17MM Hex with a 10mm extension yet, the tires will rub on the steering rack. I suppose it will work with 14mm hex but have not tried that option. I wish the wheels had more options for the 17MM feature so i could make it work was a little more so I could use these tires and not have to convert back to 14mm. This may not be a big deal to some but at least wanted to make it known. I had the same issue with the Dirt Claws as well. 2 of 3 customers found this review helpful. They will fit with Upgrade RC 17mm hex adapters tho.
Regardless, I really wish the offset was closer to zero and the tires were wider.
