Engine compartment stays surprisingly dry. Good value for the money. Doesn’t do well in chop or ruff water pump cavitates and has a hard time staying primed. The bow rides low in the water and has a tendency to submarine through waves. If it handled better I would have given it 4 stars. 1 customer found this review helpful. This is the 3rd boat I’ve tried. The first one was a UDI with external prop. It was too much for a pool. I sent it to my buddy in Florida who has easy access to lakes.
The second one leaked bad, but Amain is great on returns.
Then I tried the inkfish. I love it. It looks great. The electronics seem quality on the brushless. The speed dropped pretty much each time i used it. It didnt come with any type of instruction on how to care for it or do maintenance. Works ok for a kid or a small body of water but not for anything with any type of currrent or wake.
UPDATE: The thing is trash, you cannot fix anything that happens. If it wasn’t for AMAIN being an awesome rep of the hobby, i would of been really upset with this thing. It is absolutely not worth the money, as you can get a much better boat with a prop or a jetboat would be a proboat. Not this thing! Christopher Rush Verified Owner Saturday, Aug 10 2024 (about a year ago) UDI RC Inkfish Electric RTR Brushless Jet Ski This little Jet Ski is so much fun it’s really quick turns great it was easy to set up. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is the self right button because I can’t get to roll over it handles that well. I first drove it in my pool then the next day I took to a lake and really got to open it up and run it hard. I let my friends drive it they want one now I let their kids drive it they want one too. I was amazed at how long the run time was and it changed back up it very little time just with the supplied charger. The only thing I didn’t like was when it would jump a wake it would starve the pump so you had to let off the throttle let water flow then get go again. This was my first introduction to rc boats I’ve been into rc cars for forty years and have a very large collection I’m pretty sure I’ll be adding some more boats to it in the future.
