Traxxas Velineon ESC Cooling Fan

The Velineon® VXL-3s Accessory Cooling Fan reduces ESC temperatures during extended operation for maximum power flow. It securely clips onto the VXL-3s heatsink for easy installation. Wires are neatly routed thanks to the integrated connector clip. Simply plug the accessory cooling fan into the Velineon VXL-3s accessory power connector and clip the fan onto the heatsink for increased cooling.

Kennet Tuesday, Jul 31 2018 (about 7 years ago) Traxxas Velineon ESC Cooling Fan Works great while it lasts. Keeps the esc very cool on 3s without the random overheating shutdown issue. However, in the 3 weeks I’ve ran it, a propeller broke. I’m not sure how, the fan has plenty of clearance around it and no chance of it contacting anything. It may have just been bad luck or a random rock flying in since there is no screen on the fanblades. It still works though, just a bit noisier and with a bit of vibration since its missing a blade. Btw, it’s not waterproof. Disconnect and remove if you plan to run in water, you won’t need it. The water will keep things cool anyways.
I’m still running it but will be replacing it soon. Just the fan though, the blue clip-on frame is perfect. Replacement fan dimensions are 30x30x7.5mm and esc output fan voltage is 6V. Anonymous Wednesday, Feb 15 2017 (about 8 years ago) Traxxas Velineon ESC Cooling Fan Broke 2 blades off first time at the race track with it, nothing hit it, all my wires are secured with zip ties, simply couldn’t take the jumps, wasted money here. The car has taken flight 3 times at about 60+ mph since I’ve gotten it and the fan looks like new no broken propellers yet.

Have a Rustler 4×4 VXL that’s always running hot. 1st fan purchase (because Traxxas doesn’t include them with this model) was this and after a handful of sessions, it no longer works. Plastic construction didn’t break…wiring seemed to be intact, but it just stopped working. Tried different channels on my receiver and nothing. First time I used it at a local track it stopped spinning until I spun it with my hand for it to go by itself. Then the blades came off by itself while driving around.
