The Tamiya Grasshopper Black Limited Edition pays tribute to one of the most iconic beginner RC kits ever released. Originally launched in 1984, this 1/10 scale 2WD buggy was inspired by single-seater dirt buggies of the ‘80s U.S. racing scene. This limited edition brings back the same fun, easy-to-control driving experience that made the original a hit, now dressed in a sleek black body with vibrant fluorescent yellow wheels and exclusive color-matched decals for a fresh, retro-modern twist.
Simple, Durable Design
Built for rough-and-tumble fun, the Grasshopper uses a rugged ABS hard body and bathtub-style resin monocoque chassis secured by screws for superior durability. A roll cage, large light pods, and a half-body driver figure add to its off-road character. The coil spring suspension setup features independent swing axles up front and a rigid rear axle, while the sealed gear differential ensures reliable cornering by keeping out dust and debris. Connector Information
When upgrading to a high current LiPo battery, it is recommended to also upgrade your battery connector. We recommend using an XT60 or T-Style connector for this application. Please check out the video below to learn how to solder on a T-Style connector.
