About the Quantum2 Flux

Chassis & Suspension

The main chassis of the Quantum2 uses an internal honeycomb pattern to increase chassis rigidity. An aluminum center chassis brace further stiffens the chassis to ensure maximum durability. The control arms, turnbuckles, and steering components are all made from an extremely durable plastic. This plastic is extremely flexible allowing the components to absorb any hard impacts. The chassis features a 11.22in (285mm) wheelbase with a 13.97in (355mm) width! This incredibly wide stance keeps the truck from traction rolling while the short wheelbase keeps the truck feeling extremely responsive on throttle.

Electronics

Powering this brute is a 3500kV brushless motor paired with an 80-amp waterproof ESC. This 2-3S combo ensures insane acceleration and endless wheelies. Equipped with an MTX-400 Transmitter that gives you full control of the LED lighting, adjust trims, adjust dual-rates, and more.

Drivetrain & Tires

This 4WD chassis uses front/rear CVD driveshafts, oversized wheel nuts, metal gear differentials, adjustable slipper clutch, and a metal center dog bone to deliver the power from the motor to the ground. The rugged drivetrain floats on ball bearings to ensure extremely efficient power transfer. The Linebacker Tires are made by Tredz. These low-profile tires are non-directional and are perfect for gravel, mud, dirt, on-road, off-road, and anywhere your RC adventure takes you.

If you change the tires of the Quantum2 Flux to a high-bite tire, please ensure that your slipper clutch is properly set. There is an adjustment nut on the center driveshaft, forward of the spur gear. Please check this video below to ensure your slipper is set correctly.

Just got my Quantum2 the other day and put it through a major beatdown. The truck surpassed all my expectations. It’s extremely durable, tossable, and snappy. I expected it to be slower than it was, given the budget power system in it. It’s plenty fast on 3S!
I’ll update this review over time as I get more hours behind the wheel. But I very much expect this one to hold up, and for the price, there’s nothing else on the market that can beat it.

Front differential broken after 2 packs on 2s in the grass. Pretty unhappy with the purchase and the time I’m having to waste fixing a brand new truck. Unless HPI ships these with better diffs and quality control I’d feel ambivalent about recommending. Daughter is extremely disappointed, widespread problem apparently as AMain perpetually lists the part as ‘out of stock’.
The Good:
Awesome truck when it’s working! Almost too fast on 2s, smooth suspension, fast steering servo, super light weight, easy to work on. AMain allowed me to return the original and I grabbed a new one. Will make sure all transmission components are adequately snug before first run. The section of the drive shaft that is between the front drive cup and pinion seems to be the culprit but time will tell!
