Michael Reyes Verified Owner Tuesday, Jun 11 2024 (about a year ago) Losi 8IGHT-XE 1/8 4WD Electric Brushless RTR Buggy This buggy runs great! Recently got back into RC after a good 10yr+ hiatus. I’ve been running a Tekno SCT at my local dirt track and was a little skeptical about how this RTR would perform. It’s exceeded expectations! Electronics are super smooth and don’t even feel the need to swap out the servo as the S665 it comes with is pretty fast. Build looks good and only issue was the center diff was leaking right out of the box. Still works fine and i’ll be taking it apart to see what the issue is. Even the stock tires hooked up pretty well at my local track which is hard packed dirt/sand and don’t plan on replacing them. Took a few bad tumbles with no issues and no broken parts. Would highly recommend this buggy for people of all skill levels. 5 customers found this review helpful. I love the fact that the X/E 2.0 kit parts are completely compatible with this car. This is a great way to start off easy and upgrade parts over time. As with all rtr cars, make certain to check all fluids, check all screws and loctite all necessary setscrews. Arrived with a leaking differential and shock. I’ve been promised by losi on two different occasions that they would fix it. All they have done is send me 8 emails with excuses. They say they send it then don’t. They don’t respond or anything. I’m at the point I’m gonna call bank and back charge cause this is crap. Worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. Demetrice Durden Verified Owner Wednesday, Sep 24 2025 (4 days ago) Losi 8IGHT-XE 1/8 4WD Electric Brushless RTR Buggy Out of the box steering limits right and left were only 75%. Tried to program per instructions and it would not take. I had a fellow driver that runs local Hobby Shop try same result. I bought blue tooth module it would take only 150 the max limit. The problem with that at full steer tires rub steering linkage. I took out the module reset everything have only 150% will nor program less. Trying to figure what the problem, tranmitter/ servo? The second problem: I have ran this car only for 3 practices and 1 race. The last practice was only 4 8 minute runs. I always let everything cool before another run. On the 4th run right after taking off it started making a lound noise and lost 60% of power. All diffs and bearings check out so has to be motor. One thing I left out. I received the car the box and car had diff fluid on it. The center diff was leaking. Called Amain and they were great sent me a kit over night. Installed kit still leaked. Upon closer inspection the housing at screw holes was cracked in 2 places. Again Amain was great sent me another housing. They are working with me to try get the last issues fixed. Again this is not an Amain proplem it is a Losi quality problem. Roman Jauregui Verified Owner Monday, Sep 9 2024 (about a year ago) Losi 8IGHT-XE 1/8 4WD Electric Brushless RTR Buggy Everything was shipped as described, I’m super happy that Losi has this RTR option for beginners like myself that are new to the 8th scale scene.
Unfortunately while trying to set my shocks at a different position, I noticed that there were a silver screw and black screw, one on each side, I removed the black one counter clockwise to remove it, but while trying to remove the silver one, it was really tough to remove and it stripped on me, which seem weird to me.
So being the case, I noticed a silver screw in the front as well, just out of curiosity I turned it clockwise and it started to unscrew.
The only question is, what is rhe reason for two different types of screws and thread patterns??
