Holmes Hobbies CrawlMaster ESC (Electronic Speed Controller). The CrawlMaster Mini ESC is designed to fulfill the needs of comp RC Rock Crawlers looking for a small, yet powerful and versatile ESC! It harnesses the power of 32 bit technology to offer the smooth, quiet, and torque-dense driving you desire in an extra small package! The ESC comes pre-soldered and ready to plug and go! It is conformal coated for water resistance, but Holmes Hobbies recommends extra coating with CowRC’s Cow-Formal coat (CPP-C46011344 – Sold Separately) if you plan to submerge the ESC.

Chris Huelsman Verified Owner Monday, Jul 22 2024 (about a year ago) Holmes Hobbies CrawlMaster Mini V3 Rock Crawler Brushless ESC This esc has a very low amp internal bec. The issue with that is it will not run peripherals such as steering servo, lights etc. Therefore, an external bec is needed which is extra money and extra wiring; I wish this was stated in the product description. In my opinion, this is very disappointing. The Rhinorc esc is the same technology but it has a 10 amp internal bec with four position adjustable voltage output levels. This Holmes Hobbies esc should only cost around $40.00 and not $84.99; but their name is on it. The Rhinorc esc is far superior and it cost around $89.99 and nothing else is needed to get your crawler running properly; even with high powered steering servos. Yes you may want to run a BEC with this HH ESC. I do run a BEC, as do some of the people I run with that aren’t running direct powered servos.
Oh, and for the guy that gave it 1 Star. I was hanging with a guy running a Rhino on his cheater rig. He was surprised and impressed by the HH when we traded rigs for a while. I was just fine with his Rhino. Where did you say that HH products were designed, as I know where Rhino comes from? 1 customer found this review helpful. I direct-solder for less wiring, plug and play firmware unless you use odd stator counts or need precise timing, etc. Can’t believe someone gave this one star because it’s not a Rhino, that’s inappropriate to put it nicely. Robin Kester Verified Owner Monday, May 20 2024 (about a year ago) Holmes Hobbies CrawlMaster Mini V3 Rock Crawler Brushless ESC This is my new favorite ESC, especially for outrunner motors like the Holmes Hobbies Revolver motors. I just plugged it in, adjusted for throttle/motor direction and was running perfectly. I replaced a broken Sidewinder 4 with it and love how much space it frees up and the lack of a noisy fan.
Its small enough that it would be great for a replacement for even the TRX4M or similar smaller crawlers. I’m using it in a TRX4 1/10th scale crawler and driving it off small 2S batteries.
It comes with a few nice extra features including the USB C Programmer dongle and that super useful JST connector running a second power line for accessories as needed. 1 customer found this review helpful.
