Design
Unlike all other traditional servos on the market, the EcoPower WP827-X24 micro Servo features a first of its kind innovative built-in direct axle and links mount system that revolutionized the game by allowing the WP827-X24 to be directly mounted to the SCX24 axles with no need for a servo mount! This brilliant mounting system provides a sturdy and rigid fit with extra clearance between the chassis rails!

George Gonzalez Verified Owner Tuesday, Sep 24 2024 (about a year ago) EcoPower WP827-X24 Metal Gear Micro Servo Direct Fit For Axial™ SCX24 (HV) The installation is easy and the extra clearance you get is awesome, however, my servo is not as powerful as I would have liked. My rig has a lot of brass and weighs 406 grams. This servo struggles to turn the tires and it’s really slow. I ended up removing it and installing a cheap Emax servo and I was amazed that the Emax servo has no problems turning the wheels from lock-to-lock. It’s a shame because the specs seemed good, but in the end I’ll probably not use it again. Perhaps it works better on a stock rig that isn’t loaded down with brass.
Update 09/30/2024:
I was contacted by Brian in customer service as he was concerned that I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the servo. He felt that I may have gotten a faulty servo and offered to send me a replacement. The replacement was delivered within a few days and I immediately installed it in my SCX24. The new servo worked brilliantly. It had plenty of torque – it did not struggle turning the heavy wheels and I was impressed with the speed for an affordable servo. I changed my rating to 5 stars because the servo works very well and A-Main’s excellent customer service is second to none. 3 customers found this review helpful. It was ok on stock voltage. I started having issues and thought it was the servo dying, but when I took the steering linkages apart, a lot of the loktite from a new axle install had gotten in the pivot. It was very tacky to even move by hand, but the servo was still trucking along! Cleaned it up and it has all the power I need! Great value for the price! (Ps, I am running it at 7.2 volts and it’s great. It’s rated up to 8.4, but I figure that will wear it out faster and it’s not needed for my setup.)
