Traxxas Battery Expansion Kit (Rustler/Bandit/Stampede)

The battery expansion kit from Traxxas allows the installation of larger format battery packs into the Velineon® powered Rustler VXL, Bandit VXL, and Stampede VXL. The package includes hardware to raise the electronic speed control mount and battery posts allowing clearance for taller battery packs.

I wish the battery hold down posts had more holes in them to accommodate packs of various sizes. I did not like how long the standoffs are that raise up the ESC/RX plate. It puts them up so high that the motor wires jam up against the body. Being smashed between the body and the ESC heatsink is a surefire way to end up with cut insulation and damaged wires. I replaced the included steel standoffs with some aluminum ones about half the length. This drops the ESC back down away from the body and still fits my 3s 5000mah Spektrum hardcase lipo perfectly.
