Josh F. Wednesday, Sep 3 2025 (4 weeks ago) Tekno RC SCT410 2.0 Air Control Guards I bought these for my SCT410 2.0 when I built it. I race on a bumpy, dusty dirt track. It’s constantly changing, as the 1/8 buggies and truggies beat it up over 3 heats.
I started the season with the guards on the nerf bars, and they were getting pretty banged up. A couple of the screw holes broke, and they were all cracking, and I wasn’t convinced they were doing anything, so I removed them for a couple of weeks. Then last night, in the first qualifier, I was just jumping badly. I thought something was wrong, or that it was too windy and I’d have to ventilate my SCT body even more. I’d also noticed that one of the fast guys, who is a very good jumper had them installed. I decided to put these back on.
After that, it was smooth sailing (literally). The difference in jumping stability and control was night and day. I am convinced. The cracking doesn’t seem to change their effectiveness, and so far, they’re tight and in place. I would maybe take a half star away. because they’re relatively fragile, but whatever. If they break, I’ll replace them, and by helping steady the truck, I’m sure I’m saving myself a lot of other, more costly breaks. Get them for your truck. View all reviews
