I was excited to finally have a steel C block to provide weight and durability in the backend that was available as a factory part. When I went to install it, it was disappointment after disappointment.
First, the factory m3x8 screws bottomed out. Inconvenient but was able to switch screws to m3x6. Then I put the pill in one side but got it backwards. Turns out, there’s no way to extract it cause they’ve closed off the other side. Had to destroy the pill to get it out. A close inspection of the part showed atrocious machining.
This also doesn’t fit the R1 transmission, which I have to run because the factory transmission doesn’t spin freely without carefully torquing the case screws.
I bought two of these. I’ve opened one but I’ll return the other. Associated needs to step their game up with these factory parts, especially if they’re charging a premium.
