Scale and Appearances

To match the performance and durability of the Vigilante, Redcat equipped this beast with an aggressive classic 80’s style lifted monster truck, a period that inspired pickup trucks and will stir up positive feelings of monster truck nostalgia! This highly detailed body features front and rear clamp style body mounts, roof skids for added protection with internal supports, classic chrome roll bar, composite bed rails and injected molded bumpers with integrated LED-ready front push bar!

Electronics & Drivetrain

Powering this massive beast are the proven and reliable 8S capable Hobbywing 4985 1250kV brushless motor and 160A ESC that provides an extremely smooth, predictable and responsive throttle control, paired with the high torque 70kg steering servo to give the Vigilante all the power needed for instant wheelies, stunts and hardcore tire shredding! With great powers, comes great responsibilities, to handle this powerful electronics, Redcat made sure the drivetrain was beefed up and ready for hash punishment! Fitted with a heavy-duty all metal three gear differentials with splined outputs, hardened steel driveshafts and a rigid aluminum motor mount!

Chassis & Suspension

The rigid high ground clearance chassis with heavy-duty metal upper braces design provides a true monster truck appearance and character and allow the Vigilante to tackle harsher and chunkier terrains with ease! You definitely need a large area to run it so keep that in mind. On small ramps it’s not going to do much but on appropriate height ramps this truck will soar. Plan on using 8s if you want to do stunts. Biggest issue so far is the battery tray limits battery length to around 140mm and 48mm height. But…the engineers let us down on this truck in regard to the battery trays. Due to the chassis braces you are very limited as to which batteries you can use. If you have several 3S and 4S packs and your thinking your all set…think again. Most big “bashing” packs will not fit. As expensive as batteries have become over the last 3 years; having to buy new ones could be a deal breaker for some folks. Other than the battery trays and the lack of a wheelie bar the truck is FANTASTIC.
