About the Ascent-18
Portal Axles
The portal axles incorporated into the Ascent-18 crawler provide a significant advantage on challenging terrains, offering increased ground clearance and minimized torque twist. Utilizing durable metal portal gears, ring gears, and pinion gears, these axles ensure consistent performance, allowing the Ascent-18 to navigate rough trails smoothly and efficiently. This micro ready to run rock crawler comes equipped with a powerful 180 size brushed motor. Paired with the all-in-one ESC/receiver combo, this crawler is ready to hit the trail. A Hexfly HX-M4K servo delivers plenty of torque to steer the front wheels. The included 2.4GHz transmitter allows for nessasary trim functions to keep the truck running true. The 750mAh 2S LiPo battery ensures plenty of runtime for awesome adventures.

I can’t get over how quite it is or how great it crawls . I have a 4×8 in door course of spray foam pretty aggressive 45 degrees up and down hill 30 degrees plus side hill bridges ect.it handles it with ease. For 119.00 very impressed. Robert Bilicki Verified Owner Sunday, Mar 31 2024 (about a year ago) Redcat Ascent-18 1/18 4WD RTR Rock Crawler (Blue) This is my first mini crawler, I have a lot of 10th scales, some of them being very expensive builds. So far this thing has is very capable for its size. Radio works fine, motor is great with awesome low speed control, runtime was longer than half an hour, and charges surprisingly fast. It is very light, adding weight will help this rig, the brass upgrades are just showing up on Amain’s site now, I will definitely add some. 1 customer found this review helpful. Marcus G. Verified Owner Friday, Mar 29 2024 (about a year ago) Redcat Ascent-18 1/18 4WD RTR Rock Crawler (Blue) I’ve had that Axial scx24 since it came out years ago- and after putting a couple hundred into it the Ascent blows it out of the water! Wish I could put up pictures! I live near Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs CO and this thing is such a beast and climbs even the most technical sections of the rocks. I did move the battery all the way forward along with the ESC on top of the transmission. I also took off the front bumper for more clearance and trimmed the fenders so the tires don’t rub. Battery life is exceptional and last forever! I love this thing, my only issue is trying to move the shock locations one of the screws stripped out immediately (even with a high-end tool kit) the tires are super sticky and grip phenomenally! This thing is such a great deal VERY HAPPY, I can guarantee you will be too at this price point. Lastly, some people were complaining it didn’t have enough low end power so I ordered the extra transmission gear set, but I don’t even think I need it, it’s been perfect right out of the box 1 customer found this review helpful.
