Gabriel B Saturday, Aug 23 2025 (5 weeks ago) RadioMaster ER8 ExpressLRS (ELRS) 2.4GHz 8 Channel Receiver Amazing receiver! Really, really advanced.
I was having range issues on my Arrma Limitless while doing speed runs, so I purchased a RadioMaster Nano and attached it to my existing 4-in-1 RadioMaster MT12. Then I set up the functions I needed on the radio, and I also configured the receiver in the Web UI, which was super easy. The range is extraordinary on just 500mW, and there’s no way I’ll ever need the full watt. When armed, the ELRS TX module dynamically adjusts TX power to keep battery life good. The refresh rate is incredible. You can set your chosen channels up to 400Hz, but to keep it latency free I’d recommend only doing it for steering and maybe throttle. The built in telemetry is nice to have, but it’s not the fastest or most precise. I believe it only supports 8s input however, so you won’t be able to have battery telemetry on 12s unless you use some resistors and calibration.
Note: ELRS was originally designed for FPV and other flying things, so some things don’t really make sense for surface, such as the arming functions. However, the developers are actively improving the setup and making it more compatible with different types of RCs, and I fully expect many gripes to go away over the next few years.
