About the Kraton EXB BLX

Chassis

This V6 Kraton comes equipped with many EXB aluminum option parts from the factory. An EXtreme Bash Chassis, Split Tower-to-Tower Brace, Front and Rear Bumper Skid Plate, Emulsion Shock Caps, HD Front and Rear Arms, HD Turnbuckles, and more give this truck the feeling of being virtually unstoppable. The battery tray allows you to use two 2S, two 3S, one 4S, or one 6S LiPo Battery (LiPo not included).

Suspension & Drivetrain

Keeping this massive truck bashing and blasting, are four HD threaded aluminum shocks. Adjustable turnbuckles allow you to fine tune the performance to your liking. The included chassis bracing keeps the flex to a minimum to give a more consistent feel when driving over rough terrain. 6S rated drivetrain ensures you can keep the fun going pack after pack.

Electronics

Factory-installed Spektrum electronics deliver added reliability and punch. The Firma 150A Smart V2 ESC has updated firmware for even more power, and the high-torque S665 digital steering servo uses tough steel gears. The Spektrum Firma 4074 2050Kv brushless motor gives you all the torque you could want with the ability to reach speeds over 65MPH!

Zach Monday, Mar 31 2025 (6 months ago) Arrma Kraton 6S EXB BLX RTR 1/8 4WD Brushless Speed Truck (Black) (V6) Really wanted to love this thing. Had great anticipation and then saw all the YouTube shills saying it was the most durable basher you can buy. I wanted a good rig that I could keep mostly stock and bash around. Whelp, there goes that idea. I have to say first off that it looks the part. But that’s as far as that goes.
First run within 3 minutes of driving on flat ground on the grass, the rear differential goes out. Horizon warranties it. Sweet. Get new one in and replace it. Take it out again. Decided to see how fast it’ll go across the yard. Car gets to about 3/4 speed and the front diff gives out, exploding itself and locking up the front drivers side. So not only did it take out the diff, I lost the drive cup, dog bone, arm and retainer pin. Car has never left the ground and had already broken twice. If it wasn’t for that warranty I’d be out almost 200$ in parts and shipping for 7-8mins of driving on flat ground. This is by far my worst RC purchase. I have fixed it and built the diffs properly since they came from the factory and had a squirt of grease in them and not diff fluid.
If you buy this. Pull the diffs and check them. It seems to be a huge issue with these. I’ve gotten a total of maybe 7 minutes of run time on an 800$ RC in 3 weeks.
EXB- Extra Brittle. My Mojave 6s had been bulletproof. Love that thing. This thing makes me want to never buy another Arrma product.

Now Im having to rebuild both my diffs but thank god for you guys! You guys are awesome an sent me both diffs an my spiral gear so thanks to you! The front diff exploded after 4-5 uses. The part is not warranty because it’s a wear item. I would avoid this Arma Kraton, not worth the price. Nice and controllable with the low center of gravity. Only thing I don’t like so far is the body. First clipless system I’ve owned and I do not at all like it. Also, the body is stupendously expensive.
Personal note that doesn’t reflect the rest of the truck: I do not like the red anodized look. Wish it came in more colors.
Edit: Second battery pack in and the rear differential exploded. Hasn’t even left the ground.
Edit two: New diff came in (Thank you for the prompt response A-Main!) and that didn’t even last through the same batteries before that gave up too. Fifteen minutes of run time and in a month and I still can’t run it. Very disappointing model.
Edit three: Rebuilt and properly shimmed the rear differential. Running perfectly for three pairs of batteries. Center diff calls it quits after that. Ordering a center diff and listing it for sale at the local hobby store.
Edit four: Fixed the center diff, installed 1 mil diff fluid. Rear diff now runs 200k diff fluid. Appears to have fixed it now. Still the most fussy r/c in the fleet. Definitely not confidence inspiring. Can’t recommend this model. At least it’s easy to work on. Two stars. 1 of 2 customers found this review helpful.
