    About the Big Rock V4

    Clipless Body

Gone are the days of body clips sticking out and taking away from the scale detail that RC monster trucks can have. Arrma equipped this vehicle with a hidden, clipless body system. Simply press the tabs at the front and rear of the truck and lift up. Large side guards are close-fitting to the body to help ensure dirt and rocks keep out of the chassis.

    Chassis & Suspension

The front and rear independent suspension combined with oil-filled, coil-over shocks soak up rough terrain. Adjustable turnbuckles allow you to fine tune the suspension for your driving style. Forthe drivetrain, the Big Rock is equipped with metal gear differentials, front, center, and rear, and durable splined driveshafts. The bearing-supported center driveshaft ensures smooth power transfer from the motor to the front and rear differentials.

    Electronics.

This truck has been given Dynamic Stability Control to ensure that first time RC enthusiasts and seasoned pros can enjoy the extreme power this truck offers. Idontvoteinariggedsystem Verified Owner Sunday, Aug 10 2025 (7 weeks ago) Arrma Big Rock 4X4 V4 223S DSC 1/10 RTR Brushless 4WD Monster Truck (Blue) Truck is in idea what I want, a longer frame good handling truck and tough. Its super fast and wheelies on demand. Its heavy weight powers through tall grass unlike lighter vehicles.
I jumped ditches and had tumbles although no serious air or bad landings it handled it how it should.
I heard problems of faulty electrical engineered electronics these 223 cars speed controllers but wasn’t a believer. well after 5 minutes the electronics overheated. It is geared too high, stock 16 pinion and only one smaller is 13t that will fit, not sure that will work to fix this overheating issue – i DOUBT it, but at least get some more run time before it shuts down. The 2in1 speed controller in this is wayyyyy too small for this weight of vehicle, the motor should be wayyyyy undergeared as well to reduce motor overheating but you can’t since the motor doesnt have room to mount a smaller gear – so then the motor Kv’s should of been lowered from factory for less RPM and more power instead of this high RPM motor with less power that overheats. I’d like to gear it lower contaryery to all these youtubers that always want to put bigger pinions on – does not make sense-then again utubers arent smart neither are rc engineers. how do they put this same system into lighter vehicles and expect it works on the big heavy big rock. The engineers arent mathing on this truck the pinion should of been smaller, along with a lower turn motor for more power, and maybe, just maybe that fix speed control and motor overheating. if they did any testing on this garbage product they would of designed it for 38mph and be reliable instead of 50mph overgeared (and overheating). whoever the engineer is that put this trash out to the customers curb should be fired.
Frame was good so far, electronics should of been a recall and it seems they don’t want to admit they need a RECALL. I put pro-line mickey thompson tires on this out of the box, they also blew out couldnt handle the power. 100$ tires and they blew out in 5 minutes. Makes me wonder what these brands are doing now a days? Do they quality test anything ?
also stock out the box driving on a all dry day after all the problems with my new 500$ settup (with proline tires) being disapointed, the metal ball joints are all rusted, which i have no idea how. They were brand new dribinb on ddry grass and gravel. Its just a let down to spend that kind of money on these brands you trust and they aren’t up to par in 2025. Make sure you oil the metals on this every run to mitigate the rusting issue since the coat treatment applied at factory is sub-par. I wish I could of left 5 starts, but I can’t since I havent even got a chane to drive it more than 5 minutes without it shutting down bc of poor electrical engineering. On line they said it could run on 4s.. out of the box the esc over heated on 2s. Have a small back yard track. Hit one jump and it would shut off.. and the clip less body would get stuckdo they really make a r/c truck that is reliable.. View all reviews
