About the MT48 2.0

Performance & Versatility

At its core, the MT48 2.0 features a revised four-millimeter 7075 aluminum chassis that balances strength and flexibility while accepting a wide range of 1/10 and 1/8 bodies. Equal-length sixteen-millimeter big bore aluminum shocks provide smooth, controlled damping across any surface. Its adaptable design makes it a great fit for custom builds, allowing enthusiasts to personalize their setup without compromising performance.

Reinforced Drivetrain & Suspension

The MT48 2.0 drivetrain is equipped with full universal drive shafts, hardened steel ring and pinion gears, and oversized bearings for race-level reliability under brutal conditions. Massive five-millimeter hinge pins and steel-core hinge pin braces connect heavy-duty suspension components borrowed from Tekno’s proven truggy platforms. Combined, these upgrades ensure superior strength and longer component life, even during the most aggressive sessions.

Maximum Durability

This truck is built to take abuse. From steel pivotballs to full-size bumpers and skid plates, the MT48 2.0 is designed to withstand punishing impacts. A factory-included wheelie bar adds protection and lets you pull off high-flying stunts with confidence. Even the shock boots and body mounts were redesigned to reduce wear and increase longevity in dusty or rocky conditions.

Colton Wednesday, Sep 3 2025 (4 weeks ago) Tekno RC MT48 2.0 1/8 Electric 4WD Off-Road Performance Monster Truck Kit This being my first Tekno kit I had really high expectations. I hear a lot about how their kits build so well, and no other kit can compare. Honestly, I’m not sure why that is said. I didn’t find anything spectacular about the kit build. Everything went smoothly and built well so no complaints there, but also it builds just as well as any other kit I have built in the past (non-Tekno). As for the truck itself it drives really well and is good fun bashing around and running at the track. The 3-star rating was due to the short comings that I found after just the first couple runs. Broke a lower shock end, had a shock bladder push through the shock cap and start leaking, and bent a rear axle. I also see a lot of reports of broken A and D blocks, but I haven’t experienced that myself. For the price and how they advertise the truck I expected it to be more durable than it is. I did all that damage not bashing hard, I was at the local track, not a skatepark or anything. Plastic shock caps, plastic diff cross pins and incredibly soft shock ends really are the downside of this truck. Frank DeGraw Wednesday, Jul 23 2025 (2 months ago) Tekno RC MT48 2.0 1/8 Electric 4WD Off-Road Performance Monster Truck Kit So, I was interested in a getting a 8th scale truck that’s NOT a Traxxas (never been a fan) and here is the MT48. Glad I watched the video Amain did because there’s no way I’m going to touch this. Broken teeth on the spur, issue with the diff, only to be explained away by how “hard we were non it”. It’s a monster truck – it’s supposed to take that kind of abuse.
